Russell's Performance Background

Russell Grant's background is unashamedly thespian! He began treading the boards from age 5 before spending weekends at the local school of dance and drama in Middlesex. His first television performances were made in his early teens playing a young Welsh lad in a BBC Play for Today in the swinging 60s.

His first professional theatre role was at the New Theatre Cardiff and from there on a highly successful career burgeoned all of his performances can be found on www.russellgrantshow.com

With diplomas and qualifications from various theatrical competitions and academies, reaching medal class at LAMDA, Russell is well qualified to direct, produce and perform having reached 40 years of doing the same not just in theatre but television and radio too. His notable successes being the BAFTA nominated Postcards series and writing and presenting the Life and Times of Ivor Novello, Rodgers and Hart, Rodgers and Hammerstein and Cole Porter for BBC Radio Wales and Radio 2. His first one act play was premiered at London 's Olympia .

He has only recently gone back to performance having won rave reviews (to be seen on the website) in his portrayal of a Valley's boy in Paul Doust's Evening Standard award-winning play – Probably Wanstead – at the prestigious Brighton Festival followed by appearing Alan Ayckbourne's own theatre the Stephen Joseph, playing a dual-role of both Peter and Flossie in ‘Soap' – and winning national critical acclaim for the same. His new written work is currently in Hollywood , with a treatment on the life and times of a medieval alchemist who conjures up more than he intended too…..
