"Russell Grant's incredible timing and wit came out in style as the Narrator in Rocky Horror at the Charter last night. In the scene where Janet is frantically switching tv screens, the Narrator delivers the line - "and finally she stopped...." in the tiny pause a Rocky fan shouted "at ITV" to which Grant with characteristic brilliance, and more than a shade of the best of Kenneth Williams focussed on the area from where the heckle came from and delivered the coup des gras - "Well it weren't Virgin Media love". The audience went wild, stood up, screamed and cheered, what a line, what timing during the week when Virgin Media had closed down its channels with BSkyB. This man can deliver acid put-downs with just a look and the raising of an eyebrow. Theatres audience who don't see Grant are missing a very clever actor who is pure class. "
David Upton - Evening Post

"Especially entertaining was Russell Grant. He's funny and bitchy and twice as warm and talented as Graham Norton. In fact, if ITV 1 signed him up he could give Paul O' Grady a mince for his money."
Paul Ross - Daily Star

"I went to see Rocky Horror last night. I have seen eight narrators in the part but never Russell Grant. He was exceptional. All Narrators play the part as themselves but not Russell he played as it should be played, like one of the Welsh actor greats in the vein of Burton, Hopkins or Madoc. He commanded the audience, the production and the sooner he can reach a wider audience with his talent the sooner other people can share in my experience of a fine actor."
BBC Arts

“Britain’s very own Danny de Vito – so versatile Russell can play comedy and tragedy and change gear with subtle transmission”
JB Producer FOX TELEVISION USA

“At last Channel 5 have a presenter of character - Russell Grant has the foresight of Cassandra, wisdom of Solomon and delivery of Liberace"
TV Critic, The Guardian UK when presenting Housebusters

"His performance blew me away. Russell proved the other night to be a very talented actor who transformed himself into the character and was 100% believable”
David Ralph, Movie Producer, Daily Mail UK on Probably Wanstead Brighton Festival

“Bloody Amazing – We LOVED it, and we ALL think you’re a BRILLIANT evil Bastard”
James Baker Controller Sky One on Probably Wanstead, Brighton Festival

“Grant can pull out ferocity and hysteria in a big way. As Maisie he has these great arias and attacks and pathetic breakings down – right through every emotion”
Paul Doust, award-winning author Probably Wanstead

“God knows where Grant’s found time to squeeze in the dancing. Fast, Ferocious and Funny to boot.”
Bella Todd Arts Editor Evening Argus Brighton Festival

“Brilliant performance – an Oscar-winning performance”
James Barr DJ Bright FM and Power FM Brighton Festival

“Russell is a diamond and shine’s brightly – he is a star and shine’s very brightly! In fact he is bloody dazzling AND a joy to work with”
Philip Grout, Director Brighton Festival

“Anyone who had a chance to see Grant but missed him missed a treat. Someone who has the ability to provoke laughter and evoke tears. An actor of stature – his being away from theatre to pursue other TV professions is a loss to the stage thank goodness he is back to make up for lost time ”
BBC South Brighton Festival

SOAP – Scarborough August – October 2004
Soap is wildly funny. Full marks go to the real star of the show – television astrologer Russell Grant. He returns to his acting roots in the two roles – he plays a roly-poly female busybody and an Australian uncle.

Stargazer Grant also shines in Stuff Happens (National Theatre, London).
Bill Hegarty, The Sun.

Chubby TV astrologer Russell Grant deserves special mention for his Dot Cotton-ish drag act as the interfering biddy Floss.
Dominic Cavendish, Daily Telegraph

Astrologer Russell Grant returns to his first career – acting – to play the dual roles of the malevolent old granny Floss, and the practical Granddad, Peter, and he shows no sign of having lost impeccable comic timing, a way with a lingering look, and a tad of menace, to boot.
Phil Penfold, ITV Teletext Entertainment/Stage

Russell Grant is a massive undiscovered talent and the sooner he is discovered by a wider audience the better for the viewing public.
BBC Radio 4

Russell Grant, now better known as an astrologer than as an actor who provides a plentiful supply of that commodity essential to all soaps – camp. Camp capers put a shine on this soap.
Sam Marlowe, The Times

Soap receives suitably registered performances from Russell Grant’s outrageous drag Floss to Tim Faraday’s forever-secondary Ron.

The light-hearted play spins on its own logical axis. Thus, when Russell Grant’s good performance as busybody cleaner Floss demonstrates an uncanny Dot Cotton-like insight into everyone’s lives, we simply accept it and smirk.
